Update - Two bodies discovered in a house in Killorglin, Kerry on the 16/6/13

Gardai in Killarney are investigating as murder the discovery of the bodies of two females at a house in Killorglin, Co Kerry, on the 16th June 2013.

Post mortem examinations on the bodies of 27-year-old Jolanta Lubiene and her 8-year-old daughter Enrika were completed by the Assistant State Pathologist Margaret Bolster at Tralee General Hospital this afternoon (18/6/2013). Preliminary results have been furnished to investigating Gardai confirming that both died in violent circumstances. 


Speaking earlier today at Killarney Garda Station Superintendent Florence Murphy said, ‘Jolanta Lubiene was last seen on Langford Street, Killorglin at 1.50pm Saturday the 15th June 2013 walking towards her home at Langford Downs, a 15 minute walk from Killorglin.
 

She was wearing a dark waist length coat, dark trousers and white shoes. She was carrying two bags of shopping, a pink bag and a white bag.
 

Investigating Gardaí are particularly anxious to talk to everyone who was in the Langford Downs housing estate between 12 noon and 7 pm Saturday last. This is a small housing estate with just over fifty houses and with only one vehicle entrance and exit.’


A technical examination of the scene is continuing and an incident room has been set up at Killarney Garda Station.

Superintendent Flor Murphy will hold a renewed Witness Appeal at Killarney Garda Station this afternoon at 3.30p.m. 18th June 2013.

It is in relation to the murder of the two females at a house in Langford Downs Estate.

Gardai in Killorglin, Co. Kerry investigating the discovery of two females bodies in a house in Langford Downs Estate on the evening of 16th June 2013 are appealing for witnesses.

The state pathologist arrived at the scene this afternoon and has conducted a preliminary examination. The bodies of the deceased are being removed to Tralee General Hospital where a post mortem will be conducted this evening by Dr. Bolster.

Gardai are appealing to any persons who may have been in the area of Langford Downs Estate over the weekend and who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious in the estate to contact Killarney Garda Station on 064 - 6631222, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Gardai in Killorglin, Co Kerry are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of two deceased females (27yrs and 8 yrs) in a house in Killorglin on the 16th June 2013.

At approximately 8.30pm the two bodies were discovered in a house at Langford Downs which is a housing estate approximately 1/2 mile outside Killorglin.
 
The bodies are still at the scene. The house has been sealed off for a technical examination and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
