Bon Jovi Concert, Slane Caste, Co. Meath,

On Saturday 15th of June 2013 Bon Jovi will headline an open air Music Concert at Slane Castle, Co. Meath.

A major Garda policing plan will be put in place to cater for the large influx of people into Slane and to ensure the smooth running of this event. The Operation will commence on Friday evening 14th June and will run until Sunday morning, 16th June.

An Garda Síochána are advising concert-goers to use public transport. Persons are travelling by car are advised where possible to car-pool.

Superintendent Michael Devine, Navan, said "I am asking patrons to be respectful of local residents and their property and not to consume excessive amounts of alcohol (in particular for their own safety).  Persons driving should not drink any alcohol and should exercise extreme care especially when leaving the event as there may be pedestrians on unlit roads.”
Sinead Murphy, MCD Promotions said: "We would ask everyone to look after themselves and each other. Dress appropriately and always be prepared for the Irish weather… bring your Wellington boots and suncream. Allow plenty of time for concert entry procedures, ticket checks and searches. Please note the location of Entry / Exit Gates, Emergency Exits, First Aid Posts and Water Points and keep to lighted exit routes when exiting the Venue. For your own safety please co-operate with Gardai and stewards and follow any loudspeaker announcements. And of course, enjoy the show.”

Live information updates will be provided via Twitter @GardaTraffic in the run up to the event and during the policing operation.
