Serious road traffic collision at Lisnagry, Limerick on the 3/1/13

Gardai at Henry Street are appealing for witnesses following a two vehicle road traffic collision yesterday afternoon the 3rd January 2013 on the Old Dublin Road at Lisnagry, Co Limerick.

At approximately 2.20pm two vehicles collided on the the Old Dublin Road, at Lisnagry about 5 miles outside Limerick city.  Three males were taken to Mid Western Regional Hospital at Limerick for treatment.  Two males in one car were seriously injured, one of the males (77yrs) was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on the 4th January 2013, the second male (75yrs) remains in a serious condition and the third male (48yrs), the driver of the second vehicle his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
 

The road was closed for a forensic collision examination, diversions were put in place and the road re-opened later at 6pm.
