Gardai in Swinford are investigating a three vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N5 at the Junction with the old Castlebar Road (towards Lislackagh) at approximately 1.10pm on the 25/1/13.
A female in her 20’s was fatally injured when the car she was driving was involved in a collision with a truck and a mini bus. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the mini bus was taken to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar with injuries described as minor. The driver of the truck was uninjured. There were no passengers in any of the vehicles.
This stretch of the N5 road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Traffic is being diverted at Bohola on the Castlebar side and at the Kiltimagh turn on the Swinford side.
