Fatal road traffic collision on the N4, Kildare on the 24/1/13

Gardai in Carbury are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the M4 East bound near Broadford, Kinnegad at approximately 9.50pm on the 24/1/13.

A male in his late 40’s was fatally injured when the car he was driving, sole occupant, was in a collision with a second car.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  The sole occupant of the second car, a male in his 20’s, was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown with injuries described as not life threatening. 
 

This stretch of the road was closed for a time to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened. 
 

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to this collision that may have been travelling on the M4 Eastbound between the Junctions for Enfield and Kinnegad near the entrance to the Motorway service area around 9.50pm last night to contact Lexlip Garda Station on 01-6667800, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
