Gardai in Castlebar are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Aughadrina, Castlebar on the 13th February 2013.
The collision occurred at approximately 1.05pm on the 13th February 2013 on the Ballinrobe to Castlebar Road (N84) at Aughadrina. A HGV collided with a female pedestrian (80yrs) who was seriously injured. She was taken by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar where she was later pronounced dead.
The road was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and it reopened later in the day.
