Discovery of a body Carlow 22nd February 2013

Gardai at Carlow are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of a man at a Hotel in Carlow on 22nd February 2013.

The discovery was made at approximately 1.15p.m. on Friday afternoon (22/2/2013). His body was removed to Naas General Hospital where a post mortem examination was carried out by the deputy State Pathologist Dr Curtis earlier today (23/2/2013). No physical injuries were disclosed during the examination, the results of which are inconclusive and toxicology and other test results are awaited.

The man has been named as 44-year-old Colm Kavanagh from Killeshin, Co. Laois.

An examination of the scene by members of the Garda Technical Bureau is ongoing.
