Update and appeal - Incident at Tyrconnell Road, Dublin on the /8/13

Gardai in Kilmainham investigating a serious assault on a male at Inchicore, Dublin 8 on the 1st August 2013 have arrested a male in his 30's in connection with the incident.

He was arrested earlier today the 2nd August and is being detained at Kilmainham Garda station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.


Gardai are particularly appealing to a taxi driver who picked up a male on Tryconnell Rd at 9.20pm last night 1/8/2013 near Golden Bridge Industrial Est. The taxi driver was driving what is believed to be a light coloured Skoda Octavia (new model). The taxi then drove the man in the direction of the canal. Gardai are also appealing for witnesses who were in the area at the time to contact Gardai in Kilmainham

Gardai in Kilmainham are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of an injured man on Tyrconnell Road, Inchicore, Dublin 8 at approximately 9.25pm last night, the 1st August 2013.

The man, in his mid 40's, was taken by ambulance to St. James Hospital for his injuries, which are believed to be critical.
