Drug Seizure and Arrests in Co. Meath on the 3/8/13

Gardaí have seized a large quantity of drugs and arrested two men in an operation in Co. Meath.

As a result of a joint investigation involving the Garda National Drug Unit, the Garda Organised Crime Unit, and Customs Drug Enforcement Officers, a search was carried out a an address in Oldcastle, Co. Meath on 3rd August 2013.

During the course of the search 120kgs of Cannabis Herb was located. The estimated street value of the seized Cannabis is 2.4million Euro. Two men, one aged 50 years and the other 31 years were arrested at the scene.  Both are Irish nationals.

Both men are currently detained at Kells Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice(Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 and the operation is ongoing.
