Serious Assault Ennis 13th April, 2013

Gardai in are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Ennis this evening Saturday 13th April, 2013.

At approximately 5.05p.m. today a 23 year old female was seriously injured when she sustained a number of stab wounds during an incident on the grounds of the primary school, Station Road/Friar's Walk near the exit to the shopping centre car park. She was removed by ambulance to Midwestern Regional Hospital. Her condition is currently described as life threatening.

A female, aged 22 years was arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Ennis Garda Station. A technical examination of the scene is underway and enquiries are ongoing.

Investigating gardai are appealing for witnesses and in particular anyone in the vicinity of Friar's Walk, Station Road, the shopping centre car park or the Primary School between 4.30 p.m. and 5p.m. today 13th April, 2013 to contact them.
