Further arrest - Firearm recovered and man arrested, Dublin, 4th April 2013

Gardai in Tallaght investigating the seizure of a firearm and the discovery of controlled drugs with an estimated street value of up to €200,000 on the 4.04.13 arrested a male in his early 20’s late last night in the Tallaght area.

This is the second arrest in this investigation and he is currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Tallaght Garda Station.

The male who had been detained at Tallaght Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act, 1939 in relation to the seizure of a firearm and drugs was released without charge late last night.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardai in Tallaght have seized a firearm and arrested a male during a search operation earlier this evening (4th April 2013).

At approximately 6.30 p.m. Gardai recovered a firearm (sawn-off shot gun) along with a number of cartridges when they searched a car in Jobstown area of Tallaght. Heroin and cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €200,000 (pending analysis) was also seized. A male aged in his mid-teens arrested.

He is currently detained under section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Tallaght Garda Station.
