Fatal road traffic collision in Waterford on the 4/4/13

Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Co. Waterford on the 4th April 2013.

At approximately 11.40 p.m. a 45-year-old woman was seriously injured when the motor car she was travelling in collided with a van on the N25 at Ballyduff West on the main Waterford to Dungarvan Road. She was taken by ambulance to Waterford Regional Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The driver of the car was also taken to hospital (injuries not believed to be life threatening). The van driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries.


A male aged in his 40's was arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Waterford Garda Station


The road remains closed for a technical examination and traffic diversions are in place.
