As part of intelligence led operation by the Kells Garda Drug Unit assisted by the Regional Support Unit Cannabis Plants and Herb with an estimated street value of €1.5m has been seized.
A search operation was carried out on a business premises last night (19/4/13) in the Kells, Co Meath area. During the course of this search a large Cannabis cultivation operation was discovered (Cannabis plants & Cannabis herb subject to analysis)
A male (53yrs) and a female (43yrs) were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Kells Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 – Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are continuing.
