Aggravated burglary at Blarney Street, Cork on the 2/4/13

Gardaí in Gurranabraher are investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred at a house at Monastery Hill, Blarney Street, Cork between 02.35am and 3am this morning 2nd April 2013.

Three men armed with implements, entered the house and assaulted the four occupants (2 males & 2 females, all in mid 20s). The three suspects fled the scene but two were located shortly afterwards by Gardaí. The third suspect escaped on foot.

The two men (32 & 25 years) were arrested and are currently detained at Gurranbraher Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Two occupants of the house (a male & female) were taken to Cork University Hospital where they are being treated for non life threatening injuries.

Gardai in Gurranabraher are appealing to witnesses, who may have seen any suspicious activity in the Monastery Hill area to contact them at 021-4946200, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
