Update - Shooting Incident in Carlow on the 18/9/12

Gardai investigating the shooting of a 25-year-old man at Burrin Road, Carlow, in the early hours of this morning have arrested a male aged in his early 40's.

The man was arrested this evening (18/9/2012) during a search at house in Carlow Town.


He is detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939, at Carlow Garda Station.

The investigation is ongoing.

Gardaí in Carlow are investigating a shooting incident which occurred at Burrin Road , Carlow this morning (18/9/12)

At approximately 2.25am a 25 year old man answered a knock to his front door, when he opened the door he was shot a number of times and received injuries to his knee and stomach. He was taken to St. Lukes Hospital, Kilkenny to be treated for his injuries.  (Injuries not believed to be life threatening).
