Second Update - Operation ‘Ambience’ - 13/9/12

A search and arrest operation was carried out at locations across counties Dublin, Meath and Kildare this morning.

As part of the operation 15 males and 1 female were arrested.  They are currently detained at a number of garda stations in Dublin, Kildare and Meath under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939. The persons arrested range in age from 20 to 60 years of age.


A further male (in his late teens) was arrested this afternoon and is detained under section 30 of the Offences against the State Act 1939. He is detained in a Dublin Garda Station. A total of 16 males and 1 female have been arrested as part of today’s search operations. All of these people are currently detained.


Further searches were carried out this afternoon involving a dwellings house and an industrial unit.

A search and arrest operation was carried out at locations across counties Dublin, Meath and Kildare this morning.

As part of the operation 15 males and 1 female were arrested.  They are currently detained at a number Garda Stations in Dublin, Kildare and Meath under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939. The persons arrested range in age from 20 to 60 years of age.

During the operation searches were carried out at 30 locations.  Gardai have seized 3 imitation firearms, mobile phones, computers along with documentation.

This phase of operation ‘Ambience’ involved over 200 gardai, including members of the Special Detective Unit, Emergency Response Unit, Local Detectives, Uniformed Gardai and the Garda Dog Unit.  

This investigation is ongoing and is being coordinated from the incident room at Clontarf Garda station.  Gardai continue to examine a number of lines of enquires and are fully committed to maintaining law and order and are resolute in their determination to  fully investigate any breaches of the criminal law that occurred in Donaghmede, Dublin 13 on 8th  September 2012

As part of the investigation into the possession and discharge of firearms at Grange Abbey Drive, Donaghmede, Dublin 13 on the 8th September 2012.

(And in to the activities of dissident republicans) a search and arrest operation was carried out at locations across counties Dublin, Meath and Kildare this morning.

This mornings phase of operation ‘Ambience’ involves over 200 Gardai, including members of the Special Detective Unit, Emergency Response Unit, Local Detectives, Uniformed Gardai and the Garda Dog Unit.
