Robbery at a PO on Merrion Row on the 25th Sept 2012

Gardai in Pearse St are investigating a robbery at a Post Office on Merrion Row Dublin 2 on the 25th Sept 2012.

 
The robbery occurred at approximately 10am when a lone male entered this Post Office, he was in possession of firearm and threatened staff and stole a substantial sum of money. There were no injuries.
The suspect then walked to a nearby Hotel from where he got into a light blue coloured Skoda Taxi. The taxi drove up Merrion St and turned right onto Baggot St.

The suspect is described as near 50, english accent, heavy build, wearing glasses, dark jacket and hat.
 
Gardai are appealing for anyone who may have seen a male as described above acting suspiciously around Merrion Row, Merrion St and in particular the Taxi driver who picked up a male fitting the description to contact them in Pearse St on 01 6669000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
