Operation ‘Ambience’ - 13/9/12 - Further Update

Three men to before the Special Criminal Court on the 15th September 2012.

Operation Ambience was established to  fully investigate any breaches of the criminal law that occurred in Donaghmede, Dublin 13 on 8th September 2012, as part of this operation three males (33yrs, 23yrs and 22yrs) will appear before a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court CCJ at 11am tomorrow morning the 15th Sept 2012.

Everyone else has been released without charge.

As part of the investigation into the possession and discharge of firearms at Grange Abbey Drive, Donaghmede, Dublin 13 on 8th September 2012 (and the activities of dissident republicans) a total of 17 (16 males & 1 female) suspects were arrested.

Twelve males have been released without charge, the remaining five are still being questioned.

As part of the investigation into the possession and discharge of firearms at Grange Abbey Drive, Donaghmede, Dublin 13 on the 8th September 2012.

(And in to the activities of dissident republicans) a search and arrest operation was carried out at locations across counties Dublin, Meath and Kildare this morning.


During the operation 13 males and 1 female were arrested.  They are currently detained at a number of Garda Stations in Dublin and Meath under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act,1939.


This mornings phase of operation ‘Ambience’ involves over 200 Gardai, including members of the Special Detective Unit, Emergency Response Unit, Local Detectives, Uniformed Gardai and the Garda Dog Unit.
