Armed Robbery at Blackrock, Co Dublin on the 4/10/12

Gardaí at Blackrock are investigating an armed robbery at a Bank on Main Street, Blackrock, Co. Dublin.

At approximately 3.50pm this afternoon (4/10/12) a lone male entered the bank and threatened staff and customers.  He was armed with what is described as a handgun.


The raider took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene. No shots were fired and no injuries sustained.
 

In a follow up search shortly after the robbery investigating Gardaí stopped a Taxi on the Merrion Road and arrested a 51 year old man (passenger in taxi) in connection with this investigation. He is currently detained at Blackrock Garda Station under Section 30 Offences against the State act 1939.
 

Investigations are continuing.
