Investigation into cash in transit robbery on the 1/2/12

As part of ongoing investigation into a Cash in Transit Robbery at St Mary's Place, Dublin 7 on 1st February 2012,

Gardai attached to the Bridewell Garda Station supported by the Organised Crime Unit, NBCI have arrested 4 people (3 males and a female, all in early 20's) who are currently detained at Bridewell, Pearse Street, Raheny and Mountjoy Garda Stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.  Arrests were made this morning 15th May 2012.


The original incident occured when a vehicle carrying a large quantity of cash was robbed at St Mary's Place, Dublin 7 at 8.05 am on 1st February 2012. The vehicle was stopped at traffic lights when a silver car pulled up along side.  Two males wearing balaclavas alighted the vehicle. The window of the victims car was smashed with a hammer. A struggle ensued between the driver (sole occupant) and these males.  During the incident the money was taken and the culprits made their escape.
