Drug seizure and arrest at Carlow on the 11/5/12

At 7 pm, on the 11th May 2012 Gardaí from Carlow Garda station searched a house at Old Leighlin, Co. Carlow.

In excess of 300 cannabis plants were found growing inside the house. The potential value of the seizure (pending analysis) is €242,000.

A man in his mid 20's (believed to be a Polish national) was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Carlow Garda Station. 

The scene remains preserved for technical examination and the investigation in on-going.
