Drug seizure at Cootehill, Cavan on the 20/3/12

Gardaí have seized a large quantity of cannabis plants following a search of a house on Church Street, Cootehill, Co. Cavan on Tuesday, the 20th March 2012.

The search of the vacant property took place at approximately 2 pm and Gardaí discovered in excess of 1300 cannabis plants being cultivated. The plants may have a street value in excess of €520,000 (pending analysis).

The area remains sealed off pending a forensic examination and the investigation is ongoing. There have been no arrests.
