Discovery of a body in Listowel, Kerry on the 11/3/12 - Further update

Gardai have this evening charged two men in connection with the discovery of a body of a male in Listowel, Co Kerry, on the 11th of March 2012.

The men (aged 19 and 28 years) are due to appear before a sitting of Newcastle West District Court tomorrow morning (13/3/2012).

The male is detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Tralee Garda Station. 

The Garda Technical Bureau from Garda Headquarters is scheduled to carry out technical examinations at a number of scenes tomorrow in conjunction with Dr. Margaret Bolster from the State Pathologists Office.

Gardai investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of the body of a male at Ballylongford, Listowel this morning have arrested a male in his 20’s.

Following a planned search of an area of bog the body of a male in his 20’s was discovered. The body remains at scene and the offices of the State Pathologist and Garda Technical Bureau have been notified. The scene is currently preserved and a number other scenes are also being examined.

The male arrested in relation to the death is currently detained at Listowel Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
