Cannabis cultivation plant discovered in Youghal, Cork on the 12/3/12 - Court appearance

Three males are due to appear before Carrick on Suir District Court this morning, the 15/3/12 at 10.30am charged in connection with the discovery of a cannabis cultivation operation in Youghal on the 12th of March.

The female prisoner remains in custody in Mallow and the 4th male has been released without charge.

Gardaí have discovered a cannabis cultivation operation and arrested three men  in Youghal, Co.Cork on the 12th March 2012.
 
Gardaí searched a business premises at an industrial estate at Springfield, Youghal, Co.Cork at 11pm on the 12th March 2012.  A large quantity of cannabis plants were discovered growing in the building.  The exact number of plants is not known at this time. They may, pending analysis, have a street value in excess of €500,000.  

Three Asian men were arrested at the scene one in his 20's and two in their 30's; they are detained at Middleton and Cobh Garda Stations under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.  

The area remains sealed off and a complete examination of the scene is being carried out today by Garda forensic experts.
