Gardai in Ashbourne are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the M2 at approximately 4.40pm on the 24/06/12.
A 15 year old male pedestrian was fatally injured when he was struck by a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was uninjured.
The M2 Ashbourne by pass is currently closed in both directions pending the completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, diversions are in place.
Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses who may have travelled on this stretch of the M2 around the time of the collision to contact Ashbourne Garda Station on 01 8010600, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
