Fatal road traffic collision at Kilmacthomas, Waterford on the 2/2/12

Gardai in Tramore are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision on the N25 at Ballyshunnock, Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford on the 2/2/12.

At approximately 2.50am an articulated lorry was in collision with a car which resulted in the car going on fire and the male driver being fatally injured.  There was no one else in the car.  The driver of the lorry was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital with what are described as minor injuries. 
 

This stretch of road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
