Fatal road traffic collision at Creighan, Cavan on the 25/2/12

Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal road traffic collision at Creighan, Co Cavan, on the 25th February.

The collision, which involved two motorcycles, occurred at approximately 2025 hours on the road between Ballinagh and Cavan town at Creighan.  One of the motorcyclists, a 31 year old man, was seriously injured.  He was taken by ambulance to Cavan General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.  The second motorcyclist, a male aged in is late 20's, is recovering in hospital. 
 

Investigating Gardai are appealing for witnesses and in particular to anyone travelling between Ballinagh and Cavan town between 8pm and 830pm on the 25th February to contact them. 
 

The scene of the collision remains closed pending a full technical examination and diversions are in place.
