Drug seizure and arrest in Dundalk, Louth on the 15/2/12

Following an ongoing operation by Gardai attached to the Dundalk Drug Unit assisted by the Garda National Drug Unit stopped a van at Martin's Cross Dundalk this afternoon the 15th February 2012.

During a search of the van Gardai discovered 240 kilos of cannabis resin (pending analysis) with an approx. street value of €1.44million.  One man in his 30's was arrested and is being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended at Dundalk Garda Station.
