Drug seizure and arrest at The Swan, Laois on the 31/1/12

Gardai from Abbeyleix Garda Station have arrested a man in his 40's and seized a quantity of cannabis plants in a planned search of a house on the 31st January 2012.

The search took place at 9pm at a house in Clarmallagh, The Swan, Co. Laois and Gardai seized up to 100 cannabis plants with a street value, pending analysis, of €40,000. The plants were being cultivated at the house.

A man in his 40's was arrested at the scene and he is currently detained at Portlaoise Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
