Update - Arrest in investigation into alleged financial irregularities

Arrest of Former Officer of Anglo Irish Bank Corporation p.l.c. (Anglo) on the 21st December 2012 by Gardai on secondment to the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement from the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation.

This morning at approximately 9am Gardai attached to the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement arrested a 64 year old male.  The arrest is part of the on-going joint investigation into the affairs of Anglo Irish Bank being conducted by the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement and the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation. The arrested man was taken to the Bridewell Garda Station were he was charged with offences contrary to Section 197 of the Companies Act 1990.
 

He will appear before Court No 2, Criminal Courts of Justice, Parkgate Street at 10.30am this morning, the 21st December 2012.
