Tania McCabe Foundation on Wednesday 19th December 2012

The Tania McCabe Foundation was set up in memory of Tania who died tragically after giving birth to twins, one of the twins Zac also died. Adam the surviving twin spent a considerable amount of time in the care at the Special Care Baby Unit at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda and also at Holles Street Maternity Hospital.

The following is sent on behalf of the Tania McCabe Foundation:
 
 To date the foundation has raised in excess of one hundred thousand euro (€100,000) following a number of events held in 2012 including the following:

• Gale Force West,
• 5Alive Marathons,
• Boxing Night in Croke Park,
• Race Night in Westmanstown,
• Tractor Run in Clogherhead,
• Boyne 10k in Drogheda
• Superintendents Raffle
• And other events.

Donations were also received from various groups and individuals.

At today’s photo-call Aidan McCabe and the McCabe family will be joined by Miriam O’Callaghan, the Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan and representatives of both hospitals.

With the money kindly donated to date the McCabe Foundation have purchased the following equipment - Giraffe OmniBed Incubators. These are used for babies born prematurely and will be on display.
