Man charged in connection with CIT robbery on the 16th August 2012

Gardai investigating a cash-in-transit robbery which occurred in the car park of Rathfarnham Shopping Centre on Butterfield Avenue at approximately 12.45pm on the 16th August 2012 have charged one male (43yrs) in connection with the incident.

He will appear before Court 44 Chancery Street, Bridewell this evening at 4.30pm on the 18th August 2012.
 
The other arrested persons(a male and female) have being released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardai investigating a cash-in-transit robbery which occurred in the car park of Rathfarnham Shopping Centre on Butterfield Ave at approximately 12.45pm on the 16th August 2012 have made arrests.

One man believed to have been armed with a handgun approached a staff member of a cash-in-transit van at the Rathfarnham Shopping Centre. The male made his escape with an undisclosed sum of money in a red Skoda Octavia car driven by second male. This car was later found on fire at Springfield Ave in Templegoue. No shots were fired. No one was injuries.

In a follow up operation two males and one female all in their late 30’s to early 40’s were arrested in the Ballyfermot area. They are currently detained at Terenure and Rathmines Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
