As part of an ongoing operation to combat the sale and supply of controlled substances in the Sligo region, members of An Garda Siochana from the Sligo Drugs Unit assisted by Task Force and Detective units stopped a car at Drumfin Cross on the N4 between Castlebaldwin and Collooney Sligo yesterday afternoon, the 16th April 2012.
During the course of the search of the car the Gardai discovered ectasy tablets with an approximate street value of €50,000 (pending analysis). Two males (20 & 22yrs) were arrested and are being detained at Sligo Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
