Gardai have arrested four males and seized cannabis herb following a planned operation in Carlow on the 06.04.12.
Gardai from the Garda National Drug Unit assisted by Carlow Detective and Drug Units stopped and searched a number of vehicles in a yard on the outskirts of Carlow Town at approximately 7.30pm.
On searching the vehicles cannabis herb with an estimated street value of up to € 650,000 (pending analysis) was seized. Four males, two in their 30’s, one in his 50’s, and one in his 20’s, were arrested at the scene and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Carlow (2) and Thomastown (2) Garda Stations.
Four vehicles, 2 vans and two cars along with an amount of cash, were also seized.
