Drug seizure and arrests at Finglas, Dublin on the 5/4/12

As part of of an ongoing operation into organised crime, Gardai from the Organised Crime Unit, Harcourt Square seized heroin with street value of approximately 1.5million euro (pending analysis).

At approx. 2am on the 5th April 2012 at the Old North Road, Dublin 11 a vehicle was stopped and searched and the quantity of heroin above was seized.

2 males (1 in his early 60s, 1 in his early 50s) were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained at Finglas Garda under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
