Armed robbery in Laytown, Co. Meath on the 3/4/12

Gardaí in Laytown are investigating an armed robbery which occurred on a cash in transit vehicle in Bettystown, Co Meath at approximately 1.20pm today (3/4/12).

Two males, one armed with a firearm approached the vehicle and demanded cash, an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.  There were no injuries sustained.  Both males escaped on foot.


One male was dressed in a blue striped top and black bottoms, the second male in a dark navy top and black bottoms.  Both wore balaclavas and surgical type gloves.


Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed this incident or any person with information to contact Laytown Garda station at 041 981 3320, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
