Unlawful abduction at Lusk, Dublin on the 1/9/09 - renewed appeal

Appeal for assistance in identifying two female witnesses who may be in a position to assist with the investigation.

 

Gardaí in Coolock investigating the unlawful detention of a female bank official and her husband on the 11th September this year wish to renew their appeal for assistance in identifying two female witnesses who may be in a position to assist with the investigation.

 

The first female who was walking a white medium sized dog at St. McCullan's Close in Lusk between 8.30am and 8.50am on the 11th September.  She is approximately 5"5 in height and was wearing a white zip up top. She may have noticed two people sitting in a gold coloured Mercedes (06 KE 7294) while walking the dog.

 

The second female is approximately 5"5 in height, and had long black hair in a ponytail.  She was wearing dark coloured leggings and zip up top. She was walking a small dog, and may also have seen seen the gold coloured Mercedes between 9.15 and 9.45 pm at Dun Emer Crescent, Lusk.

Gardai are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the unlawful detention of a female bank official and her husband.

 

At approximately 9am on 11/9/09,  a female bank official and her husband were abducted by a criminal group at Dun Emer Estate, Lusk, Co. Dublin.

 

The male was taken away in a white van. The woman withdrew a sum of money from Bank of Ireland, Coolock Village. At  approximately 11am the money was left it in a gold colored car at an agreed drop off point on Greenwood Avenue, Coolock.

 

At approx 2pm the male managed to free himself from the van at Carraigmore Estate, Citywest, South West Dublin.  No physical injuries were sustained. 

 

Gardai from Coolock are investigating this incident assisted by Divisional Units and  members from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation. An Incident room has been set up at Coolock Garda Station.

 

Gardai are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Dun Emer Estate Lusk, Bank of Ireland, Coolock Village,  Greenwood Avenue, Coolock, or Carraigmore Estate Citywest, between 8am and 2pm today, the 11/9/09 and noticed anything suspicious, to contact them on 6664200 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
