The body of the female was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai in Tullamore are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a female at an apartment off Tara Street, Tullamore on the 22nd October 2009 at approx. 19.00 hrs.
The body of the female was pronounced dead at the scene and remains there. A male was arrested in connection with the incident. He also received injuries and was taken to the Midlands Hospital in Tullamore. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The services of the State Pathologist have been requested and the scene is preserved pending a Technical examination.
