Gardai in New Ross are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at approx 11.00hrs on the 22nd Oct 2009 on the R731 at Ballygalbert, Ballywilliam, New Ross.
The collision occurred between a truck and a van; the driver and sole occupant of the van a male (31yrs) was seriously injured and was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 13.00hrs. The truck driver was accompanied by a passenger and their injuries are described as slight.
The road was closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and is expected to be re-opened between 5-6pm.
