Swords seized in Dublin on the 2/11/09

Approximately 7,000 swords of different length and specification were seized.

 

In an operation carried out by members of An Garda Síochána based in the Bridewell Garda Station in the north inner city area of Dublin, approximately 7,000 swords of different length and specification, and also a number of air rifles, have been seized.

 

On Monday, the 2nd November 2009 searches were carried out in a number of different premises in the area by members from the Crime Prevention Unit assisted by the District Detective Unit, Divisional Crime Task Force, and the Neighbourhood Policing Unit.

 

Two males aged in their 20's were interviewed in relation to the seizure at the Bridewell Garda Station and have since been released without charge, pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
