Number of drug seizure in Blanchardstown, Dublin on the 5/11/09

A number of drug seizures were carried out by the Blanchardstown Drug Unit over the last two days.

 

Drugs Unit members and Detectives from Blanchardtown Garda station have made a series of 3 drug seizures over the course of the 5 November 2009.

 

Search 1

A Kilo of crack cocaine (subject to analysis) was seized during the search of a house in Finglas in the early afternoon.

The drugs seized have an estimated street value of €40,000.   One male -  27yrs  was arrested and was detained in Finglas Garda station under section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.  He was charged and released on bail to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on the 27 November 2009.

Search 2

Later in the afternoon a kilo of cocaine (subject to analysis) with a street value of €70, 000 was seized following the stop and search of a car in the Blancharstown area. One male - 40 yrs was arrested and is currently detained under section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Blanchardtown Garda station.

Later in evening of the 5th of November 2009  a third drug seizure was made.   A number of photographs of this seizure are now available on email request to the Garda Press Office pressoffice@garda.ie.

One male  27 yrs was arrested and is currently detained at Finglas Garda station under section Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

During the course of the search, cocaine with an estimated street value in excess of one million euro was seized.

 

As the result of an ongoing operation targeting criminal activity and drug dealing in the Blancharstown area of Dublin a house was searched in Blakestown earlier this evening, the 5/11/09.

 

This operation was carried out by detectives from the Blanchardstown Drug and Detective Units.

 

During the course of the search, cocaine with an estimated street value, subject to analysis, of in excess of one million euro was seized.

 

Various drug distribution paraphernalia was also seized which included a compression press and mixing tools / agents.

 

A 26 year old man was arrested and is presently in custody in Finglas Garda Station under section 2 of The Drug Trafficking Act.
