Fatal road traffic collision on the N17 between Milltown and Ballindine, Galway on the 17/11/09

There were five female occupants travelling in the motor car, all believed to be aged in their 20’s.

 

Gardai in Tuam are currently at the scene  of a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N17 between Milltown and Ballindine, Co. Galway.

 

At approximately 730pm this evening, the 17/11/09, Gardai were called to a collision involving a motor car and a lorry. There were five female occupants travelling in the motor car, all believed to be aged in their 20’s.

 

Three were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth female was pronounced dead on arrival at Mayo General Hospital. A fifth female is currently in Mayo General Hospital where her condition is described as critical.

 

The driver of the truck was also taken to Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

 

Forensic Collision Investigators have been notified and the scene of the accident remains closed. Traffic diversions are currently in place.
