Fatal road traffic collision at Coothill, Cavan on the 3/11/09 - Name

One female has been released from hospital, while a second famale and a male remain in hospital with injuries.

 

Gardaí in Bailieboro investigating a fatal collision on the 3rd November in Cootehill have named the deceased as Nicola Roberts, 19 years old, from Ballinagh, Co. Cavan.

The investigating Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area of the collision (Corravahan, Cootehill) at approximately 22.30hrs to contact them at Bailieboro Garda Station (042-9694570), the Garda Confidential Line (1800 666 111), or any Garda station.

Gardaí at Coothill are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 10.30pm last night on the R188 at Corravahan, Drung, Coothill, Co. Cavan.

 

There were 2 cars involved in the collision.  Both cars were travelling in the same direction going from Coothill to Cavan.  One of the cars had 1 occupant and the other had 3.

 

All 4 people were taken to Cavan General Hospital where the 19 year old female back seat passenger of one of the cars later died.

 

The road remains closed at present pending a forensic collision investigation.  Diversions are in place.
