A man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai in Longford are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred shortly after 2.30pm today, the 17th November 2009 at Agharra, Co. Longford.
A 31 year old man was pronounced dead at the scene when the car in which he was the sole occupant was involved in a collision with a 4 x 4. The driver of the 4 x 4 was taken to Mullingar Hospital.
The road between Ratharney, Co. Longford and Ballynacargy (which is a back road between Longford and Mullingar) will remain closed overnight and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
