Viable Suspect device found on Baldonnel Road, Dublin on the 26/5/09

Discovery of a suspect device on the Baldonnel Road between the junctions of Commons Road Lower and Barney’s Lane.

 

Gardai from Tallaght and Ballyfermot are investigating the discovery of a suspect device on the Baldonnel Road between the junctions of Commons Road Lower and Barney’s Lane. The area was cordoned off and one house within the cordon was evacuated.

The services of the Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal team were requested.

The device was removed to Cathal Brugha Barracks where upon further examination it was established to be a viable device.

The Baldonnel Road was closed for approx. 2 hours and re-opened at 20.15hrs

Investigations are ongoing.
