Gardai in Ballymote, Co. Sligo are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the R296 Tubbercurry to Ballymote Road on 21/5/2009.
At approximately 00.01 hours a pedestrian was fatally injured when he was struck by a motorcar. The pedestrian, a man aged 63 years, was taken to Sligo General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The road remains closed for technical examination between Ballymote and the five roads, and traffic diversions have been put in place.
