Gardai investigating an armed incident which occurred in the Badgers Hill area of Kilteel, Co. Kildare on the 26th February 2009 and the subsequent robbery.

 

Gardai investigating an armed incident which occurred in the Badgers Hill area of Kilteel, Co. Kildare on the 26th February 2009 and the subsequent robbery of a substantial amount of cash on the 27th February 2009 from the Bank of Ireland, College Green, Dublin 2, have this morning, the 12th May 2009 carried out an operation in Dublin. A number of searches took place and three men were subsequently arrested. 

 

All three men are currently detained in Harcourt Street, Pearse Street & Store Street Garda stations under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. They are aged in their 20s and 30s.

Gardai at Naas are investigating an incident which occurred in the Badgers Hill area of Kilteel, Co. Kildare last night 26th February 2009. 

A number of armed raiders entered a house and held up a family.  A male who was in the house at the time, who is a bank employee, was forced to go to a Dublin city centre bank and hand over an amount of cash.

The family were subsequently released.  No injuries were sustained, however the family have been traumatised as a result of this incident. 

Gardai from Naas are appealing to any members of the public who may have been in the vicinity of Badgers Hill between 6pm Thursday 26th Feb and 8am Fri 27th February to contact them at Naas Garda station on 045-884300/045-884389 or the Garda Confidential line 1-800-666-111.
