Fatal shooting in Bray, Wicklow on the 29/5/09 - Arrest

A man in his early 20's who was arrested in Bray last evening, the 9/6/09 will appear before Arklow District Court this morning in connection with the death of Mr. Sinanapayen.

Gardaí at Bray are investigating a serious shooting that occurred in the early hours of this morning in Richmond Hill, Bray, Co. Wicklow.

Shortly after 1am shots were fired through the second floor window of an apartment complex there from an external stairway.  There were 2 male culprits involved.

 One man wore a blue baseball cap, had his face covered, a black jacket, light grey tracksuit bottoms, white runners and average build.

The other man wore a black top, possibly a hoody, black tracksuit bottoms, black shoes and was of average build and height.

The firearm used was a shotgun.

A 32 year old man was found seriously injured inside the apartment.  He was removed by ambulance to Loughlinstown Hospital and at present is in Beaumont Hospital where his condition is described as being critical.

The scene is preserved at present and the services of the Garda Technical Bureau have been requested.

No arrests have been made to date.

Gardaí at Kevin Street are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred shortly after 9.30pm last night in Grumpy Jacks, The Coombe, Dublin 8.

Two males on a motorcycle pulled up outside the public house and the pillion passenger went inside and singled out  a 33 year old man.  He then shot him a number of times at short range with a handgun.

The injured party was taken to St James Hospital where he died a short time later.

Both suspects were wearing helmets and made their getaway on the motorcycle in the direction of Dean Street.

The scene is preserved pending a full technical examination and investigations are ongoing.

No arrests have been made.
