Release of names of the deceased in relation to recent fatal road traffic collisions.

 

Gardai have released the names of the deceased in relation to the fatal road traffic collisions since the 29/05/09:

 

Fatal Road Traffic Collision at Swinford on the 29/5/09: Annette Scott, aged 51, from Thayne, Wyoming, USA.

Fatal Road Traffic Collision at Lexlip on the 30/5/09: Peter Braun, aged 26, from Maynooth, Co. Kildare.

Fatal Road Traffic Collision at Ballyconnell on the 31/5/09: Graham Wilson, aged 34, from Falkirk, Scotland.

Gardai at Swinford, Co Mayo are investigating a three vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 6.35pm this evening (29/5/09) on the N5 at Bahola.

The N5 is the main road between Westport and Dublin.

A female driver in her 50’s was fatally injured when her car collided with another vehicle, a third vehicle was also involved.

Two other people were injured, their injuries are not described as life threatening.

The road is currently closed pending a Garda Forensic Collision Investigation. Diversions are in place.

There is no further information at this time.

Gardai at Leixlip. Co Kildare are investigating a three car collision which occurred at Pike Bridge on the main Maynooth to Leixlip Road, R148, this morning the 30th May, 2009 at approximately 7am.

A male driver in his 20’s was fatally injured in the collision.(Only occupant)

2 males (drivers of other vehicles and only occupants) were also injured in the incident and were removed to James Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown were their conditions are not life threatening.

The road is currently closed pending a Garda Forensic Collision Investigation.

Diversions are in place.

The Gardai in Ballyconnell are investigating the circumstances of a Fatal Traffic Collision on the 31st May 2009 at approx 19.25hrs. The collision involved two motorcyclists. The collision happened on the N87 which is the main Belturbet to Ballyconnell road, it occurred the Ballyconnell side of the Slieve Russell Hotel.

A motorcyclist in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.

The scene was examined by the Forensic Collision Investigator. The road was closed for a number of hours and re-opened again at 01.15hrs on the 1/6/09.
