Fatal road traffic collision at Mullinachta, Longford on the 24/6/09 - Witness appeal

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or been in the area beforehand is asked to contact Gardaí.

 

Gardaí investigating today's (24/6/09) fatal traffic collision in Longford are appealing for witnesses.

 

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or been in the area immediately beforehand is asked to contact Gardaí at Granard on 043 6687660.

Gardaí at Granard are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 2.30pm today at Clogh Bridge, Mullinachta, Co. Longford.

 

This collision involved a teleporter and a car.

 

The driver of the teleporter was killed and his body remains at scene. He is believed to be approximately 60 years of age and he will shortly be removed to Mullingar General Hospital.

 

There were 3 adults and a child in the car.  They did not receive any injuries.

 

The road remains closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Investigation.
